One of Frances first winter sports resorts in the well-known resort of Chamonix is at the foot of Mont Blanc where the first Olympic Games were held in 1924. The resort has 144 km of sunny ski runs for winter sports fans of all levels. The Mont Blanc ski pass, which is available here gives access to an enormous ski resort.
The off-piste tour through the Vallée Blanche is famous in this resort. This journey stretches over 21 km and lasts for four hours partly going over a glacier. Advanced skiers must definitely take this run when visiting this ski resort. It is best to take a guide with you as there are some dangerous parts. This is an absolute must for anyone with guts!
This resort has a total of 42 km of cross-country ski runs for cross-country skiers. All the runs are part of a circuit with the longest route being red-black and which stretches for 30 km through the wooded region. Here, you can also take a great walk through the magnificent nature.
